Summer fun on our farm in Siusi allo Sciliar

A true outdoor paradise

When the heat moves through the valleys in summer, you will find yourself in a cool summer retreat on the Alpe di Siusi and there are almost no limits to the leisure activities on offer there.

Outdoor fans enjoy the vastness of Europe’s largest high alpine pasture on summer holidays around the Alpe di Siusi while hiking, mountaineering & climbing, running or mountain biking.

Equipped with food and good shoes, nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable mountain experience. Rustic alpine huts, majestic mountain peaks and flora rich in species determine the landscape of the Alpe di Siusi in summer.

Hiking and mountaineering

The Alpe di Siusi and the surrounding mountain ranges offer a 350-kilometre-long network of hiking and walking trails for all levels of difficulty.

We too appreciate living in such an enchanting mountain world and love to hike but also to climb via ferrata. The choice is limitless.

For sporty mountaineers, the 2563 m high Schlern – the landmark of South Tyrol – is a must. The Langkofel (3180 m) and Plattkofel (2950) are also worthwhile destinations that can be easily reached from the Seiser Alm.

With children, the trail leads to the places of the Schlern witches and on the tracks of the knights. Barefoot, the “Witches’ Springs” adventure trail takes you step by step.

Those who do not want to undertake such a mountain tour on their own can join a guided mountain or climbing tour in Siusi allo Sciliar or Castelrotto.

Mountain biking

The tour network of the Bike Region Alpe di Siusi/Val Gardena comprises 600 kilometres of panoramic routes. From hobby bikers to competitive athletes, from easy routes to challenging climbs and technical downhills.

The tours on the Alpe di Siusi and the villages about 1000 metres lower down, Siusi allo Sciliar, Castelrotto and Fiè allo Sciliar make biking possible at any time of year.

If you want to overcome large differences in altitude in a short time and without much effort, you can rent an e-mountain bike from the professional bike rentals and pedal uphill with verve.

The idyllically situated bathing lake “Völser Weiher”.

It is one of the cleanest bathing lakes in Italy and lies at the foot of the Schlern. Surrounded by green fir trees and an impressive mountain backdrop, the “Völser Weiher” is refreshing on hot summer days. You can reach it on foot in about one and a half hours or comfortably by bus.

Outdoor swimming pool Telfen/Kastelruth

In the summer months, the Telfen/Kastelruth outdoor swimming pool invites you to have fun in the water and cool off. After a strenuous hike, what could be better than diving into the cool water and enjoying the breathtaking panorama of the Schlern?

Of course, you can also spend a whole day in the swimming pool, which offers a large pool with diving boards, a children’s paddling pool, a whirlpool tub, a beach volleyball court and a large sunbathing lawn.

Golfing in San Vigilio di Siusi allo Sciliar

Only a few minutes by car from us lies the golf course of S. Vigilio di Siusi, nestled in the magnificent landscape of the Dolomites. The pleasantly fresh mountain climate and the unique nature make playing golf on the 18-hole golf course a special experience.

Thanks to its altitude of 850 metres, the golf course offers excellent climatic conditions and can be played from March to November.

Horse riding in the Dolomite region Alpe di Siusi

You can also discover the beautiful area of the Alpe di Siusi and the Sciliar on horseback.

Some riding farms in the Sciliar area offer riding lessons and rides on the high plateau. Riding in the Dolomite region Alpe di Siusi with a Haflinger is particularly popular, hardly any other type of horse moves so reliably in the mountains.
